Moving to Canada right after my Graduation—newly married, in unfamiliar surroundings — and starting from scratch was not easy. But the strong academic background and the thorough training in intelligently carrying out various personal, professional, as well as social responsibilities received during my years at RLAK CHE assisted me in meeting this challenge successfully. The beautiful thing about my Alma Mater is the genuine interest taken by the faculty in keeping track of the professional growth of their graduates. And so it was, that with motivation and guidance from Ms Rubina Hakeem of Nutrition & Dietetics Department, coupled with a bit of my own determination, I got my degree evaluated, took the necessary courses and started my career as a ‘Volunteer’ at “Canadian Diabetes Society”. I gradually worked my way up and am now working for Compass Group Canada — a global leader in contract foodservice and support services. I currently hold the position of Food Service Director managing Food Services for 2 locations of HSBC, and for Eurest Dining Services — a Division of Compass Group. Working with a great team of highly trained chefs, bakers, cooks, cashiers & customer service personnel, my professional expertise is directed towards providing nutritious and appealing food, ensuring excellent food quality, and extending first-rate customer service to the clients.

My high demanding work life requires preparation of endless reports, QA audits, Financial Audits, HR, tailoring & customizing menu to client needs and much more. My training at RLAK CHE assisted me in developing the skill of multitasking which helps me in managing the day to day challenges of career & family life to the satisfaction of all concerned.

The degree program at RLAK CHE in Food Service Management equipped me with the technical knowhow, indoctrinated the necessary skills, and opened up opportunities to achieve a successful, rewarding, and lucrative career.
